We finally moved!

The wait has come and past.  We have made the move.  Hans and I packed up all the boxes, text some friends and family to help and made our move twenty-nine blocks south on Monday the 15th of December.  I was able to put up the Christmas tree yet again, but hey like my mother-in-law said, "if you put up the Christmas tree they will call you right after you finish to move.  So I took her advice and did and the next day they called saying that we could move.  I put up the tree on Thursday and she called on Friday and we moved on Monday.  It was a busy week for us.  Right now we are taking a break from the unpacking and relaxing.  Well atleast I am... Hans is setting up the computer while Arlee is trying to grab the computer.  It is great to have a break.  I will tell you that it is not easy packing with a needy little girl.  When Arlee is not able to see me or Hans then she starts to cry.  So she made it really hard going in and out of the room to grab different things.  I was so glad that she slept for a long time so we could pack with out any interruptions.   Hans was home all Saturday and we were able to pack for a couple of hours before going to the Jazz vs. Lakers game, which my parents and I gave him for an early birthday present.  We then packed all Sunday with the exception of sacrament meeting.  We felt bad about packing that day, but we were not going to have any other time to do it with the short notice that we had.  My little sister, Kali was nice enough to assist us for a couple of hours while Arlee was yet again sleeping!  : P Napping babies are the best when you want to get something accomplished.  I will be updating you all on our little adventures at the new house and things that come up.  By the way, Hans' mom broke her wrist after helping us move.  Sorry Ulla!

I gave up!

Okay, so I gave up.  I put our Christmas tree up.  It looks great!  It is starting to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go..... Just kidding.  At least it looks like it in our living room.  Arlee was really into the bright red ornaments.  She would army crawl right up to them.  Trying to grab them and then would end up on her face.  Good times were to be had watching her.  I have wrapped all the presents that we have right now.  I really need to get it together and get the rest of my shopping done.  Hans has been working, studying and going to school a lot so it has been hard to go out together. We haven't done anything for Arlee yet.  It is just crazy how busy two people with one child can get.  The thing is I even stay home!  One would think that I have more time, but I don't.  I have been trying to pack a lot and stuff, but not too successful.  I felt really good just for getting the tree up.  With Hans not having anytime to go with me I might just have to do it myself.  I don't want to, but if we do end up moving before Christmas it is going to be really difficult to get anything done.  Well I think that I am done telling my sob story.  You have to admit though I am a pro at it. : )
I found some "to and from" tags down in the basement.  They are from when my grandma was alive about 14 years ago. So they are really old, because she bought them before then of course.  I thought it was really cool to find them and be able to use them with our gifts.  We now have modern wrapping paper with an antique flare. : )  I also found some old wrapping paper that I am planning on using on a special someones present.  Wouldn't you like to know if it is yours?  My plan is to go out tomorrow and get the shopping done and my sister's gift shipped.  We will just have to see what happens.

Still Waiting!!! ARRRRRrrrr

I posted a blog about three blogs ago saying that waiting game no more.  Well that is true to the fact that we know that we are going to be moving, but we still don't know when.  We are supposed to be moving this weekend, but the people that are in the place are still there.  They were supposed to be closing on the house last weekend, but they didn't.  We are still waiting and now Christmas is getting closer and I have not put up our tree.  It is really frustrating, but oh well... what can we do?

I have been packing little things that we are not going to be needing.  I have been writing if they are going to storage or the house on the box to stay organized.  Hopefully it will work out as easy as I have planned in my head, but who knows.  Arlee is getting into everything while I am packing and luckily she is not crawling yet or it would be even worse.  I have been so lucky that she has been taking naps, so I can pack more.  Hans has been studying and working a lot so I have been doing it by myself little by little.

We are hoping that they will be able to close this weekend at the latest or we will probably be staying until after Christmas.  I was talking to Hans' mom and telling her that if we put up our tree they would close and call us as soon as we were done.  I might just put it up to see if it will work.  Still debating on that one, but I will let you know.

Arlee's first sickness

Last week Arlee wasn't sleeping very well and I was to the point of just leaving her in her room to cry it out.  I had it!  I felt really bad, but after two days of little sleeping and the third day being of no sleep by 3AM I woke Hans up and asked him to take her.  He was great to take her for me so I could finally get some sleep.  I could do anything but cry and that is what I do with no sleep.  Arlee was so tired and everything, but too sick to fall asleep.  She had a runny nose and a little cough for about two weeks, but it was enough.  I told Hans that I was going to take her to the doctor if not for anything, but a piece of mind.  I took her to the doctor in the morning and he looked at her ears and they were fine, he looked for signs of teething and no teething, he looked at her throat and said that it was a little red and then he tested her for strep and it was negative.  What was wrong with my little baby then?  He said that she might have a sinus infection, but the only way that they could test for it would be to stick a needle in her face or a catscan.  Her doctor told me some other things, but lost me after he said that she would start feeling better by taking the prescription.  I was so glad that there was going to be a solution to all the problems that she was having.
I got Arlee's prescription filled and gave it to her and she has been feeling a lot better.  I am so thankful for medicine and doctors who know how to give a mommy some much needed sleep.  Thank you Doctor Harris!!! : )

Eight Months Old!!!

Arlee is now eight months old. It is crazy how time has flown by! She weighs about eighteen pounds and twenty-seven inches long. While she is attempting to crawl, she is as curious as any little one. She grabs everything and almost instantly puts it into her mouth; if it will fit that is. Arlee has a little cold, but I think that she is getting over it. Yea! I was even thinking about taking her to the doctor last night. She was so congested and sounded aweful, but hey she fell asleep so all was well.

It was her very first Thanksgiving yesterday, but isn't old enough to enjoy all the delicious baked goods, cooked turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. A few things that she is old enough to do is: cry anytime anyone wanted to hold her, talk to her or even just look at her. After a little bit of that she calmed down and just enjoyed herself. Silly little bug!

Arlee's First Halloween

This year was Arlee's first Halloween. She was dressed up as a Lady Bug. She looked so cute. To tie in with Arlee's outfit Hans and I were SWAT. We wore all black and had SWAT on our shirts. Then we carried around fly swatters and that was out outfits. Of course we don't "swat" Arlee, but I thought it was a really cute idea for us this year.

This is my pumpkin that I carved this year. It is a witch.
This is Hans' pumpkin and it is a tomb raider. There is a diamond on the bottom of the picture that he is after.

Arlee's cousin Brock was spiderman. They really like each other as you can tell. (I didn't have Arlee's hat on.... It just kept falling off.)

Here we have some of Hans' family: (Left to right) Amy-dressed up as the one Spiderman saves. (she is pregnant), Brock- spiderman, Jens (Hans' brother)- a bad guy that Spiderman catches, Me- SWAT, Arlee- Lady Bug, Hans- SWAT, Ulla (Hans' mom)- the clown

Arlee with my sunglasses on... Makes really cute "bug eyes" :)

This is a picture that we took right before we left for our adventures.

Arlee is all ready to go!

This was on Friday night at my friends' house. Gage and Arlee playing with their party cups. They loved them.

Arlee and Gage dressed up for the party.... they are holding hands- how cute! Gage is a lion.
This weekend was a lot of fun. Halloween used to be one of my least favorite holidays, but this year was great to take Arlee around and see everyone. We are looking forward to next year when she will really enjoy the trick or treating.
