Arlee Nichole Hoge

We finally have our little girl! Arlee was born March 25, 2009. She was 6 pounds 14 ounces and 19 inches long. We went into the hospital at about 1:00 pm on the 24th after Chelsey had timed her contractions for 3 hours (since 10 am). Arlee was born at 5:44 am after a long wait. Chelsey did great there during the labor (the doctors and nurses were amazed at her pain tolerance and toughness), and the birth was textbook. Arlee is super cute. One nurse who was in the delivery room went to the nurses' station and was bragging about how cute she is, and when we were taking Arlee to the nursery, all the nurses came to check her out. She has hair, which is weird for both sides of our families, and she has long eyelashes. Both of us are so happy to finally have her here and that she is healthy along with Chelsey. Pictures will be posted later, but this is it for now.

Arlee's Room/ Pregnancy

So we finally finished Arlee's room. We did a brown and pink theme I guess. I put brown and pink decals on the wall. I think it turned out cute. Anyway, here are some pictures.

Arlee's Crib- pink and brown. There are polka dots, stripes and flowers.

Arlee's name that was made by my brother's fiance Lindsay

Another picture of Arlee's crib and the wall with the decals on it.

Pink and Brown polka dots and flowers.
So everyone has been telling me to take castor oil to make it so I start to have contractions and possibly break my water. I did that last night. I think I had about 20 contractions and then it was over. I am still not a mommy, but we will have to wait and see if it does anything now. I don't think that it will, but we will see. My doctor said that this Wednesday the 25th if I am at a 2 then she will start me on the 26th. That gives me something else to look forward to. Hans and I are really excited and everything, but right now it is a waiting game. Right now I am done with work. Yesterday was my last day so I hope she comes soon so I don't go crazy. I am so glad to be done with work. It means that I am one step closer to being a mom.

Setting up Arlee's room

Hans and I were setting up Arlee's room on Sunday. Hans was such a good sport with the pregnant lady (me) not making up her mind how she wanted it set up. We moved the furniture so many times in the room I think Hans gained a lot of muscle. He is my work horse for right now, while I am pregnant. I felt kind of bad changing my mind all the time, but you got to get it just right. : )

After we were done moving things around I started to organize her clothes and different things that she got from Hans' mom's shower; that she threw me the day before. She got some pretty cute things at that shower. I am so glad that she is getting a lot of clothes. I just have this feeling that she is going to need them between getting them dirty all the time and especailly growing out of them. I will be so sad when she can't wear the newborn clothes anymore. They are so cute. Not saying that the other ones aren't it is just that the newborn clothes are so tiny, I love them. One thing that Alree got was a little tutu from her Aunt Amy and Amy's mom and sister. It is so cute. It made me laugh when I pulled it out of the box. I know that she will have a lot of fun dressing up in it.

2nd Anniversary!!!

We just had our 2nd Anniversary yesterday. We had a lot of fun celebrating. Since this year it ended up being on a Sunday we celebrated on Saturday the 28th of February. We went to Sampan for dinner. After that we went to the movies and watched Taken. Then we went home and watched the recording of the Jazz game; which I fell asleep during. Hans watched the BYU/UTAH basketball game after the Jazz game and then he woke me up so we could go to bed. Needless to say I was comfortable right where I was. This doesn't happen very often when you are pregnant so it was a chance I wasn't willing to take so I slept on the couch for a few more hours until I woke up and then went to bed. Hans and I slept until around 9 or 9:30 AM and then we got up and made breakfast together. We had pancakes, bacon, orange juice and hashbrowns. This was really good. After breakfast we got ready for church and left. When we got home we ate lunch. It wasn't anything special; just peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. For dinner we had steak, steakfries, biscuits, salad and sparkling cider. How romantic? After dinner we cleaned up and played Rummicube twice. Since Hans and I both won we thought we would call it good. Let the record show that I won the first game!!! Then we watched a movie called: Gifted Hands a Ben Carson Story that I had recorded earlier. After that we watched the Jazz game that we also recorded from earlier that day. I fell asleep of course in the 3rd QTR, but the Jazz won. They also won on Saturday too. After the game was over Hans woke me up so we could go to bed. This time I woke up and went to bed. The last few days I have been really tired and even if I don't wake up a lot at night I still get pretty tired.

We only have four more weeks left until Arlee's due date. It has gone by so fast. We are very excited for the day when we can see her cute little face. Both of our families are pretty excited too. I do have to say that my sisters are the most excited. They are so funny. Lately, I have been organizing Arlee's presents from the baby showers and it has been a lot of fun. I love the little clothes that she has been getting. They are so cute. I have a shower for Hans' side on Saturday, that his mom is throwing. I am pretty excited for that.
