NEW CAR!!!

As you may have read in my last blog we needed to get a new car that can fit a car seat in the back without smashing the people in the front. Hans and I went car shopping on Saturday and found one that we both really like. We got a 2007 Jeep Compass with 14,000 miles on it. It will defintely fit a car seat or maybe even three! We traded in my little Jetta and got more money taken off the price and we don't have to worry about insuring three cars until we sold it. I am glad that we got everything worked out and we got a new car with less miles for the price of what we would have been buying a Passat for with about 60,000 more miles. It worked out really well and Hans and I are both happy. Hans and I were going to have to fix some things that we found out recently that were wrong with the Jetta, but now we don't have to worry about it anymore. Jettas are also very expensive to fix and that just isn't every fun when we have to pay for that. I will hopefully be posting pictures soon of our new baby carrier, but I will let you know when I do. Take care.

The joys of becoming parents.

The first baby shower is tomorrow. I am really excited about it. My sisters are throwing it for me and they can't wait. Lyndsay and Kali are having so much fun with it. Everytime that I see them they are laughing about what we are going to do at the shower. The things at the shower are a surprise so I am not to know anything about it.

One thing that Hans and I found out is that we have to get a new car, because my little Jetta will not let a decent sized baby seat in the back seat. It is so retarded I am really going to miss my little car. So we have been looking on the internet for one as of right now. Yeah we can fit one of the smallest car seats back there, but Arlee is going to grow sometime and she will need more room. My suggestion before going to the hospital is to make sure that your car seat fits and gives your baby some room to grow. I am really fighting getting a new car, but I know that once I have the other car I will like it too. Hans has been looking at Passats. I think that he will want to drive that car all the time if we get it. He loves the Passats and I like them too, but it would be my car.

Anyway, that is the scoop right now on what is going on. Car shopping and baby showers!!! The joys of becoming parents.

Eighth week and counting!!!

So today marks the 32nd week. I only have eight weeks left. It has gone by so fast and I can't believe that it is almost here. Hans and I are getting really excited and we can't wait to hold little Arlee.

I have a doctor's appointment on Feb. 12th to see how we are doing. I am sure I have gained more weight, but it is all good. That is supposed to happen. I know that I will love loosing it later and hopefully I don't have to loose a lot. That has been the biggest bumber about being pregnant. I hate going to the doctor and them telling me that I have added a few more pounds. They all tell me that it is normal, but this is the most that I have weighed my entire life.

Anyway, off the little soap box. People in my ward are all starting to have their babies and they are so cute. I am the third one in line by the due dates to have Arlee. I get more and more excited once the numbers to get to me start to decrease. There were six at one point and I was the last now there are people behind me. This part of being pregnant is so much fun with all the heart burn and sickness that comes when Arlee starts to move, I get hungry or too hot. Yesterday I had all three of those things combined. It was aweful and all I wanted to do was sleep. To tell you the truth I dread going to church. They have the temperature set too hot and I start to get sick. I try to leave every so often so I don't throw up, but it is really hard to keep getting up and miss parts of the talks, lessons and so on.

Well that is all for now. I have to baby sit my little niece.

Registered on Saturday for Arlee

Hans and I were able to go and register for Arlee's baby shower gifts. We registered at Babies R' Us and Target. It was fun to register and pick out things that we think we will need, but at the same time we didn't know what some of the stuff was. If you are going to get us something and you find something that is better in your opinion then go for it. We have not done this kind of thing before, so it is all new to us and sometimes I don't know if we got the best stuff. I know that the play pin, carseat and stroller are the ones that we wanted. We also found a few different crib sets throughout the store that we weren't sure if we liked more than the other ones that we scanned so we just kept them on there. I will have to go and look to see what we scanned and manage it if I remember when I get the chance.

I felt Arlee!!

So last night I was sitting on the couch with my arms folded and resting on my stomach. I felt Arlee move right underneath my arm and she just kind of stayed there. So I took my hand and felt the little bump that was there. It was between the size of a nickel and a dime. It was so cool. It was as if I was touching her outside my stomach. I wonder what I was touching? Whether is was her heel, shoulder, fist etc. It made me get a little teary eyed and everything. After that I would try and take my hand and feel her when ever I would feel her stay in the same place. I wasn't able to darn it, but the first time was really cool and special to me. Hans was at basketball and not there when this had happened or I would have had him feel her too.

New Year's

For New Year's Hans and I went to our friend's Tanya and Kevin's for a party. We had a lot of fun. It was Kevin's birthday and we were celebrating that as well as New Year's. We played Dance Dance Revolution-which I looked really silly playing. It was only my second time playing it and I couldn't get the stomping down just right. I think there was only twice that I didn't end up in the danger zone. Hans didn't play the DDR with us, but he did watch-what a party pooper! Just kidding. After we were done playing the DDR we went upstairs and played Curses. That was a lot fun to see everyone doing their several different curses at the same time. I don't know if you have ever played that game, but it is a lot of fun. I think the funniest people were the guys. They had all the really good curses.

When the time came for the count down we all got out the bubbly (Sparkling Cider), poppers and little noise makers. When midnight hit we ran outside and popped the poppers, made noise with the noise makers, drank some bubbly and got our New Year's kiss. After the noise and everything was over we went back inside talked for a bit and then decided that it was time to go the seperate ways. Hans and I drove home trying not to get killed by the crazy drivers and also not to fall asleep.

I am happy to say that we made it safe and sound and headed off to bed for a good nights rest. Our rest was so nice that we didn't even get up until 9:15 (Hans) 9:30 (Me).
