Oregon Trip 9 of 9: 2nd time in Yaquina Head Lighthouse- Tour!

This is another light house. This one is a lot smaller and it truly a house with a light on top of it.
The sun was in Arlee's eyes, but hey I think she still looks cute. ; )

Abbie and Arlee were running to and from the water with their shoes on. Well I felt like Arlee needed the whole experience. She loved it when we were on the Washington Coast up north and I knew that she would love it again. Abbie and Arlee took off their shoes and socks and off they went. It wasn't too long before I was joining in on the fun too. Hans and Matt were party-poopers and just watched from the sidelines. Lydia was attached to me.

After about and half hour to and hour we decided that we better get going. We still wanted to go to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. (it was closed before.)

After this picture was taken. Arlee had to go wash off her feet and hands again. While she was washing them off a wave came and scared her. She started running away before looking where she was going and face planted in the wave that was coming after her. Needless to say Hans was no longer a party-pooper. He ran and grabbed her with his shoes on and his pants not rolled up. Hahaha. Someone should have been watching her. Hans carried her all the way back up the hill and into the bathrooms to wash her off in there then to the car where she could get warm.

After the beach we went back to the first lighthouse are took a tour. The night before it was closed. Arlee wasn't able to go up so we took turns staying with the girls.

This picture is off the tanks where they would put the pig lard and heat it up. That is a lot of lard. The opposite wall had them too.

Office area

Hans at the top stair. They wouldn't let you go all the way up, because the top part was about a million dollars back when this was built. It was made in France and shipped over. It took 4 years from start to finish in it journey. Now it is worth a lot more as you could imagine.

Glass was inserted in the floor to give more light during the night for the tower.

Oregon Trip 8 of 9: Oregon Coast Aquarium

This was a fun little aquarium. Arlee really enjoyed it.

Arlee loved watching the sea lions swim and bite at each other.

This is one place that I was really looking forward to going. There was a tunnel made of glass that you could walk in and look at all the sharks. Arlee and I had a lot of fun identifying all the things from Finding Nemo. I.E., Mr. Ray and Bruce mostly.

Matt

The touchy feely place. Every chance we get we feel the things that we can. This was a highlight for Arlee Bug.

Abbie was a little bit of a spaz when it came time to touch anything, but she finally did it after we all did it. She has always been weird about textures and such things. But she did it and we are so proud. Haha.

Oregon Trip 7 of 9: Yaquina Head Lighthouse

After the drive from Tillamook we went to the Hotel and got everything unpacked. By this point it was around 5 and we weren't hungry yet so we went to Yaquina Head Lighthouse.

"YAY LIGHTHOUSE!" She was so excited. You got to love the excitement of a child. They just make things so much better.

Seriously, made me so nervous. This took a couple of tries to get this picture. We had a hard time holding still when we could hear the waves crashing and creeping up on us.

After all the fun with the tide pools and the cobble stone. (cobble stone by the way is really loud when the water goes over it. It is like pop rocks in your mouth with a concert style loudness.) No kidding it is so loud. Anyway, after that we went to this place as per Abbie we went to Mo's. Abbie and Matt for their honeymoon drove up the coast from Salt Lake and ate at Mo's a few times. Abbie loved that she like the clam chowder. She is not a seafood lover like myself.
