It has been a while since we have posted anything on our blog so I thought I would just take a minute an fill you in. Arlee is now eleven weeks old today. She is getting so big. She is over 85% in everything regarding the head, weight and height. I took her to the doctor for her two month check up and she weighed 12 lbs 1 oz. She is two feet tall and I can't remember her head size, but it was up there. She is our healthy little girl who loves to eat. She has been laughing lately and smiling a lot.
When I took her to the doctor's she got three shots and had to drink some other stuff. She did really well. They hurt her of course, but she didn't cry for too long... only about five minutes. It wasn't until later when she got a little fever and her legs started to get really sore that she started crying. Our poor little one. Anytime that you would move when you were holding her on her right side would she scream. Okay this is pretty hard when you are nursing her. Only during the nursing period was she really fussy. I just loved to hold her and let her know that I was there. It was so sad, but cute at the same time. I will have to repeat this process in the July when I take her for her four month check up. I am sure that she will pass with flying colors, but be fussy afterwards for a couple of days. Hans wasn't able to go with me to her check up, because he started his internship that he works 40 hours a week for free at Smiths and 20 hours where he gets paid at Harmons. Her appointment was on a day that he wasn't doing his internship, but he was working one of the two ten hour days to keep our insurance. So instead of having Hans there I took my mom. It was very helpful to have someone else there to help carry the diaper bag and help me with Arlee. I am so glad that my mom is so willing to help me and I don't know what I would do without her. She is always so helpful.
As I mentioned above, Hans has started his internship where he works 40 hours for free and 20 hours when he goes to work and gets paid. So all together he has been working 60 hours a week for a total of 6 weeks. He has been really tired most days, but he does it with a smile and then comes home and helps me with Arlee. It has truly been a blessing for us that I have been able to stay home; but in turn can put some stress on Hans as he works these long weeks.
Some of you may have heard that my grandpa passed away on June 6, 2009. I was able to spend a lot of time with him while I was growing up. We would go out to lunch together and some times out for ice cream. He has taken me and a few of the guys that I was dating at different times and made sure they were okay for me to date. He would tell them all about the bus that he drove when he was retired and being in the army. My grandpa always checked up on me and made sure that I was doing okay. He made sure to ask me about my cars and how they were doing, but only he would ask... "How is OUR car doing?" I really miss my grandpa and the times that we had together. He was a great man and an easy role model for me. He as well as my parents taught me the value of a dollar and to save my money and not to blow it on something that isn't important. I am so lucky to have known him and been able to admire him. I was able to get a generation picture with him, my dad, me and Arlee. It was taken a week before he passed away and the last day that I really saw him with it. My dad and I were able to share a little joke with him that I will never forget. It was the last time that I saw him laugh...It was great! After my grandpa passed away funeral arragments were made and his services were held on June 10, 2009. Hans, Arlee and I as well as other family members drove down to Castledale, Utah where he is now barried next to my grandma. I am so happy that they can be together now. It has been 13 and a half years. I am also so thankful for the gospel and the outlook that I have. I am so glad that I will be able to see them again and be able to laugh about the times that we have had together.
