My mom came to visit us for a week. The original plan was for her and my grandma to come up, but my grandma ended up not feeling well. She stayed behind and my mom drove up by herself. It is a long 11 hrs!
When we drove down and back it was 13 hours with 2 kids. That was pretty hard. I think I might prefer to fly next time, but it wont happen.
Anyway, she got here and brought us Dunford Doughnuts! Delicious I have to say. As good as they are they didn't last long. I wish they had them up here, but I guess only in Utah. My mom brings me and my sister some when she comes to visit. We both love them and live out of state.
While my mom was here we managed to do some sight seeing, go to the temple and play at our house. Here are some pictures of our adventures.
First up:
Clear Creek Waterfall
We had a guy take out picture and believe it or not there is a waterfall in there right below Hans' arm and above the baby carrier.
Next stop:
Rainier View Point
We caught it at the perfect time. It got pretty cloudy after we had lunch.
Arlee in front of Rainier, but it was so bright and cloudy which makes it really hard to see. This was from the other side of it.
There are so many waterfalls from the run off that we stopped and took a picture at any chance that we got.
"Do you want me to turn around?" SILENCE... "Speak now or forever hold your peace." Were a few of the sayings that I used often as we were driving. My mom always said turn around and Hans usually said nothing. Haha! That is okay he has seen them before.
This tree was crazy and this stop I really wanted so since I was driving then I won. the roots and things were crazy huge!
My mom looking for things to come out of the holes.
Me showing how big it was. I am just under 5'8 so it was really tall.
my mom next to the trunk.
My mom brought Arlee a bike that she got at the D.I. I asked her to look for one before she came up since they always have great deals on kid things. This bike was $3.00. I told her to get it. She decided to give it to Arlee as a hello present instead, but the purpose was met and we are thankful for the gift. Arlee loves to be outside and we really do not have anything other than chalk or bubbles to play with. So the bike was a huge hit. She was constantly asking my mom to go outside.
They played by the fence a lot. They didn't really have to worry about cars there either.
favorite game. It was windy so Arlee was trying to put stuff in this whole. When she would let go everything would just come right back up in her face. Then she would chase it. It was pretty cute to watch. She would also call it by some name that was in her movies. Most of the time it was Nigel from Rio. Because he flies like a bird and these were too.
Arlee running after the white leaf that is against my mom's hoodie.
My mom would put the leaf against the fence and then Arlee would run after it as it got blown around.
Showing my mom around town.
At the Track Mall in town there is a train that you can play on. It was pretty fun for Arlee.
Arlee and my mom looking for cars.
The old Soda Fountain. We got lunch there and then my mom got us some ice cream. (Hans was at work most of the time she was here)
My mom felt really bad that she didn't have a picture of all of us. Lydia wasn't in ours that she has on the wall. So we attempted to take a quick one while Hans was home. Problem being... I had a smudge on the lens that I didn't know about. It was pretty frustrating!
We had a hard time doing things since it seemed like Lydia was always tired, but we managed to do a few things such as playing outside or playing on the kinect. We had a great time having her here.
Walking and playing at the lake.
We have a walking path by our house so we went on there 3 times while she was here. One place that Arlee loves to go is a place where rocks and water are in abundance. Man oh man does she love it. She even talked my mom into digging up a few of the really big rocks. Silly girl!
